This is a PDF version of How to Practice the Buddhadharma: A Lamp for the Path of Liberation by Sera Jey Lharam Geshe Tsulga

Venerable Geshe Tsulga (Tsultrim Chöphel) was born to a nomad family in 1939 in the Kham region of Tibet. Ordained at the age of seven, he received his early training at Darghye Gompa. At age 17, he entered Sera Je Monastery in Lhasa. Two years later, in 1959, he escaped the communist occupation of Tibet and spent the next ten years in the refugee settlement at Buxa Duar in India. He then helped reestablish Sera Monastery in exile in South India, where he received his Geshe Lharampa degree in 1987.

Those who knew Geshe Tsulga will attest to his great kindness and humility. He was a shining example of one who truly embodied the teachings of the Buddha, had extensive knowledge of Buddhist philosophy and authored several books published in Tibetan, including an extensive history of Sera Je Monastery. Geshe Tsulga arrived in the United States in December 1992, after being requested to teach at the FPMT centers on the east coast by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. He was the Resident Teacher at Kurukulla Center for Tibetan Buddhist Studies from 1995-2010, which is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT).
